This README.TXT file describes the contents of the EtherWORKS PCI Network
Management Distribution Diskette.  This diskette is a DOS FAT formatted
diskette.  This diskette contains the following files:

      o  DMI MIF files for use with DMTF/DMI aware applications

      o  SNMP Instrumentation for Novell NetWare

      o  SNMP Instrumentation for Windows NT

      o  Pointers for obtaining SNMP Instrumentation for SCO Open Desktop

      o  SNMP MIBs for compilation by an SNMP aware management application

      o  NICWORKS - a graphical local management tool for Digital's Ethernet
         adapters


The diskette is organized in several subdirectories.  The subdirectories
and their contents are summarized below.  Most subdirectories contain a
README.TXT file that provides detailed operating and installation
instructions for the associated software. 

Some of the README.TXT files are long.  You may print a copy of the
appropriate README.TXT before beginning any of the installations.  To
view the README.TXT file, you may use a text editor installed on your
system, or use the following procedure:

At the MS-DOS prompt, enter the following:

           MORE <README.TXT

The text output pauses at the end of each full screen.  The text output
resumes when you press ENTER.  To stop viewing the README.TXT file,
press CTRL-C.


NETWORK MANAGEMENT DISKETTE ORGANIZATION

The root directory of the Network Management Diskette contains the
following files:

README.TXT   - This file
RELEASE.NOT  - General release notes for the Network Management Diskette

The root directory of the Network Management Diskette contains the
following subdirectories:

\DMI

   Contains the software and documentation for DMI.

\SNMP

   Contains the software and documentation for SNMP.

\NICWORKS

   Contains the software and documentation for the NICWORKS local
   management tool.
