Knowing who is doing what to which card might be useful ,in case you would like to chip-in ,contribute .or it could be that you have a idea which might enhance the present drivers .So here is all that you would like to know about the men behind ALSA, alternatively you could even subscribe to <alsa-devel@alsa-project.org> but i wouldn't like to remind that all these developers are working hard to make the drivers work the best for you , so my advise is unless you are sure of what you are doing please do not disturb them with "my sound card has the surround sound embedded in its fifth chip why is it not ......"
